Isn’t the whole point of the story accepting differences and different cultures? Except Jasmine’s costume isn’t what Middle Eastern women wear, either. 

I see these costumes as a more elegant, “special” version of the princesses’ costumes.

I have no complaints.

none of them are wearing an outfit they wore at any point in any movie…. even Mulan has a crown. These are more ornamental outfits.
